International Elective Rotations
• 1-4 week elective credit rotations.
• Program stipend for trip expenses.
• Assistance with organization and trip preparation by experienced faculty members.
Rotation locations have included: Amazon Peru, Venezuela, Honduras, Kenya, Ghana,
Cameroon, Nepal, China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Korea; Hurricane Katrina relief in costal
Mississippi.
Community Service Options
• MPower: free medical clinic to the underserved; staffed by residents, faculty 1-2 nights/ month.
“Green Light Club”: adolescent obesity clinic organized and implemented by faculty and
residents, offered twice a year.
• Sav-A-Life: pro-life counseling and teaching opportunities at local chapters and schools.
Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Affiliation
• St. Vincent’s East FMR serves as the sponsoring program for the primary care sports medicine
fellowship at St. Vincent’s Birmingham.
• Lecture series by sports medicine fellows with primary care emphasis.
• Sports medicine rotation at world-renowned facility.
